Back from LA!

VJ’s salon staff made it safely home from LA! We all had an amazing time soaking up all the latest make-up, hair, and nail fashion tips! We flew into LA Friday made to our room just in time to head to dinner with Julie Hewett herself! Julie Hewett is a make up artist in the film business! Saturday we all took a hands on 8 hour class with Julie. We learned all her fabulous make up tips and great ways to use her product! Sunday we all made it to the Long Beach hair show! Here we were able to look into some different salon software programs as well as all the latest hair trends! On Monday we took an 8 hour class with Jessica Nail Care, which is the line we carry here in our salon! At Jessica we learned how to do nail cultures, fix broken nails and practiced Jessica’s Manicure procedures! So much information and such a fabulous weekend!

Friday January 29th Virginie, Jessica, April, and Kellie are headed down to LA for some great classes! Starting Saturday we will be taking a class with Julie Hewett for make up techniques! Julie Hewett is a make up artist in the film business. Its going to be a great experience for all of us! Sunday we are all headed to the long beach hair show to get all the latest fashion! Monday we will be taking a class with Jessica, which is our nail care line! A weekend full of great education and fun!

Decleor Product knowledge Class!

Monday January 4, 2010 our entire staff attended a Decleor product knowledge class here in our salon. Chelsea Novosel brought in all the new products Decleor has for the year! We learned all the essential oils use for particular skin types for anti aging techniques! Chelsea performed an amazing product knowledge class and we all can’t wait to use all our new information!

VJ’s Salon and Day Spa has many exciting events happening this year! Starting in January the entire staff is going to attend a full day of hands on training from Julie Hewett in LA. Julie Hewett is a make up artist in the film business! Its going to be an amazing experience for all of us! In March the entire staff is headed down to Berkley CA for a three day hands on advanced training with Decleor. Decleor is the skin care line we carry in our salon. We are all excited about the new year and all the great education to come!

Jessica wanted more height in the crown and wanted her hair in back to be brighter with contrasting red tones. She also wanted the dark hair in the back to be more visible.

To achieve this look for Jessica, I chose a disconnected haircut. For the top I started with shorter layers in the crown and graduated them into long layers toward the front. I left the fringe long and framed her face. For the length, I brought it up to her shoulders with some long layers.The back I colored with 2 different red tones to achieve the contrasted look she desired.
