VJ’s Salon and Day Spa has many exciting events happening this year! Starting in January the entire staff is going to attend a full day of hands on training from Julie Hewett in LA. Julie Hewett is a make up artist in the film business! Its going to be an amazing experience for all of us! In March the entire staff is headed down to Berkley CA for a three day hands on advanced training with Decleor. Decleor is the skin care line we carry in our salon. We are all excited about the new year and all the great education to come!
A nude eyeliner rivals Visine in getting the red out of tired eyes. Run the liner along the rim of the lower lashes and blend it in the corners of the eyes (at the tear ducts). You’ll conceal any pinkish tones around your eyes and make the whites appear whiter! Use a pencil that’s matte, like omit by Julie Hewett.
VJ’s Salon is going to be participating at Paint the Town Pink. A very special event to benefit advancement of breast cancer care in our community. Come join the fun! We will be cutting hair for people who want to donate their hair to the Locks of Love Foundation. Locks of Love uses the hair to make wigs for cancer patients. The hair must be 10 inches or longer. This event will be held 5pm to 8:30pm October 29,2009 at the Nevada County Fair grounds. Its going to be lots of fun for a great cause!
Last Wednesday hair stylists Jessica, April & Kellie participated in a hair layering class. We started be cutting a square line then adding in layers. We used different techniques of layering to achieve different shapes. We discussed which shapes we would use for specific face shapes. Lots of great information and a fun class!
So many “baby boomers” are wondering if it is time to let their grey grow out and quit coloring their hair. It is a big decision, but we have created a new process that I call “Grey Enhancement” this can be an exciting transformation without as much time and expense of keeping up a more demanding haircolor processes. Many natural blondes have the same problem in that their blonde just isn’t as exciting as they want it to be, so as colorist we add brighter blondes, shimmery reds and golds and some times more dramatic darks to create the perfect blonds. The same holds for grey hair but the palette of colors are different relying on cooler shades of slate, charcoal, silver and platinums. These colors will brighten and bring more depth to grey taking away a faded out feeling that a lot of women (as well as men) experience. Don’t e afraid of the adventure you can always go back if you desire.
A very welcoming place to be pampered. Virginie is the only hairdresser who has been able to cut my hair so my right side works. My haircut and color are always great and her staff is fantastic. The pedicures are awesome.
